DATE OF NEXT PARENT COUNCIL MEETING:
26th August at 7:30 pm at Forrester High School.
The School Council is accountable to the Children and Families Department and to the whole body of parents, and is required to report to all parents at least once a year. All meetings of the Council are open to the public except when confidential matters are to be discussed.
Amongst the School Council's responsibilities are taking part in the appointment of senior promoted teaching staff; and if Boards wish, other staff appointments; approving the Headteacher's proposals for the distribution of school finance; nominating members to serve on Area Attendance Advisory Groups. The Headteacher consults the School Council on the school development plan, hours of opening, occasional holidays, school dress, homework, discipline policy and curricular provision, and any other matters where the views of parents are important.
